Rob completed an electrical apprenticeship in Bundaberg after finishing school. Rob’s electrical trade experience includes commercial, industrial, domestic and marine electrical systems.
Whilst living in Bundaberg, Rob found his passion for fishing, spending hours with his son Tommy, creating a strong father and son force to be reckoned with. ‘Reef fishing’ progressed to ‘game fishing’ and finally to ‘barramundi fishing’ when the weather turned bad and offshore fishing was ruled out. They have competitively fished on the ABT Barra tournament series and with the Hervey Bay Game Fishing Club.
Rob’s vast knowledge of fishing and all things ‘electronic’ has made the family business ‘Sunshine Coast Marine Electrical Doctor’ a natural progression. Rob has numerous YouTube videos on how to fish Lake Monduran and features with friend Rob Paxevanos on Fishing Australia.
Fishing Accolades:
Tommy Wood caught his first Marlin at six years of age and a first ‘1-metre Barra’ casting at ten years of age. It would be fair to say he is hooked on fishing.
Tommy hosts a swag of accolades from his fishing endeavours whilst only being 23 years of age. Tommy starts his lifelong goal this year, competing as an Australian non-boater in the American Bass Master Elite series.
Tommy heads to Texas in March of this year to have a taste of some serious Bass competition. Tommy will spend 3 months in 2023 on the circuit as a non- boater giving it, his all.
Our family at Sunshine Coast Marine Electrical Doctor are right behind him, he is something the Americans are going to have to look out for. We wish him well, and look forward to him returning as a boater. Follow him on Facebook or Instagram.
